At Henderson KY Pride Inc., our mission is to educate, advocate, and uplift LGBTQIA+ individuals through diverse community initiatives and celebrations. We strive to provide a platform that fosters understanding, acceptance, and inclusivity within our local community.
Our Vision
Our vision is to create a dynamic, safe, and inclusive environment where LGBTQIA+ individuals can thrive. We aim to achieve this through our annual Pride festival, ongoing celebrations, support groups, educational services, and advocacy resources throughout the year. Our goal is to celebrate diversity, promote LGBTQIA+ history, and work collaboratively with our community to ensure the well-being, inclusion, and rights of LGBTQIA+ people.

Our Journey
Our journey began with a simple yet powerful idea: to bring visible LGBTQIA+ celebration to Henderson. What started as a final project assignment at Bellarmine University quickly evolved into a transformative community initiative. We initially organized a modest event at the local library, aiming for 50 attendees. To our surprise and delight, nearly 400 people joined us, revealing a profound need and enthusiasm for LGBTQIA+ visibility in our town.
This overwhelming response confirmed that our community was ready for change. With the support of our dedicated team and mentors, what began as a small gathering grew into a major festival, underscoring the strong desire for LGBTQIA+ celebration and acceptance in Henderson.
As we continue to grow, we remain deeply grateful for the support from our town, family, friends, and the vibrant community we serve. Henderson KY Pride Inc. is more than just an event; it represents a movement towards a more inclusive and supportive future. Our team, consisting of 25 passionate individuals and six working committees, is committed to advancing this mission with dedication and care.
